St Kilda vs. Western Bulldogs
Thursday, June 12 – Marvel
Jimmy’s Prediction: Bulldogs by 23
Two of Melbournes smallest clubs may only have two teams in between them on the ladder – but they are light years apart.
While the Bulldogs got shown up but a fiery Hawthorn outfit (finally) last week, they are welcoming back the smooth moving giant Sam Darcy, who had been sorely missed.
If the Saints still think they have a chance for finals, this would be a must-win game as they are 2 games away and a nearly worse than Essendon percentage. There’s no point thinking they can still make it at this stage with those numbers – especially if they can’t beat 9th on the ladder.
Saints to come out strong, but Dogs to take it home and bin the Saints season for good.

Hawthorn vs. Adelaide
Friday, June 13 – University of Tasmania Stadium, Launceston
Jimmy’s Prediction: Hawthorn by 9
The Hollywood Hawks came out strong in the box office last week, after being relegated to Hulu for the last month. This will be a real test for them to see if they are back to being serious contenders and can keep this momentum.
Luckily the Crows are not cats, as they would have used up all 9 of their lives last week against a relentless and poor kicking Brisbane.
The Crom and The Hok are probably the two names I hate hearing the most, but when they are on song they are both two of the most exiting teams in the comp. With good weather expected this week, it’ll be an absolute match in Tassie. Definitely a match fit for the G, but Tassie football fans need something to celebrate of late.
Purely by location and that Hawthorn so great work down there – I’m backing the Hawks, in Match of the round.

Brisbane vs. GWS
Saturday, June 14 – Gabba
Jimmy’s Prediction: Brisbane by 15
So far, so good with the match ups in my opinion. Both Lions and Giants have been in poor form, but both have oodles of talent and should be top 4 sides.
Brissy seem to be playing better football away from the Gabba, and last week they definitely missed a good chance to dump the red hot favourite Adelaide, at Adelaide. Hopefully they spend some time this week learning where the big sticks are.
Not too sure what is happening with GWS at the minute, but since beating Geelong at the Cattery, they have lost to Fremantle at home, Port at home (2.0), and only just bet Richmond at home.
It’ll be interesting to see how GWS go in their first game in QLD this year (seeing how they hate ENGIE). However, I think they just like Melbourne and they’ll be blocking their ears to Country Roads.
Brisbane to get back on track.

Essendon vs. Geelong
Saturday, June 14 – MCG
Jimmy’s Prediction: Geelong by 36
I can’t even remember the last time Essendon didn’t get pumped by Geelong, let alone beat them. And with the differences in injuries (and team skill level) – hard to imagine this being any different.
The Dons have been pretty decent to be fair, with half a TAC and VFL team. Good signs for the future if the young kids are having a crack now and getting some exposure.
However, the future is not now and one team that always loves playing in the current is Geelong. With hardly any backline to come up against, the Coleman Medal favourite Jeremy Cameron will have a field day.
Geelong to flog them mercilessly.

North Melbourne vs. Fremantle
Saturday, June 14 – Optus Stadium
Jimmy’s Prediction: North by 8
The classic North home game in Perth, which makes a tonne of sense. The Kangaroos must be enjoying the western beaches, quokkas and hostile rival fans to stay on the other side of the country for another week, by choice.
Whilst it paid off last week with a win against the Eagles in Bunbury, the Dockers are the king in the West at the minute. However, they are not invincible there have lost to Sydney and Collingwood this year.
Although Kangaroos are 16th, I enjoy watching them move the ball, and I think an extra week in the west will dilute the Freo home ground advantage. Freo have been really good of late, but I can smell an upset – off little basis but gut, and the fact last time they played each other here, Kangaroos won.
North in a “what is this year of football” upset.

Port Adelaide vs. Melbourne
Sunday, June 15 – Adelaide Oval
Jimmy’s Prediction: Melbourne by 12
Another potentially close came. Not cracking, as both teams are not that exciting most of the time, but a tough one to pick.
The Dees have been on the way up after a horrific start to the season, and were very close to winning against flag favourites Collingwood last week.
Port, might’ve used up their quota of winning a good game once a month against the Giants last week. Before last week they were 4 losses in a row.
It’ll be a good battle in the midfield, however I’m going the Dees on this one. I think Port are better overall, but I can’t trust them.

West Coast vs. Carlton
Sunday, June 15 – Optus Stadium
Jimmy’s Prediction: West Coast by 6
I think we might be in for an upset here. After their win against St Kilda, the Eagles were kept honest with a couple of smashings from Adelaide and Geelong – nothing to be ashamed about for where they are at.
Carlton have been terrible pretty much all year, and last week was no exception. If you watched last week and thought the skills were bad because of the 40mm of rain – it was completely dry at the G. Both teams were just bad, and Carlton nearly lost it to the Essendon teenagers.
West Coast start pretty well and against Adelaide and Geelong, the Eagles were only a few goals down. Considering Carlton goto sleep after half time, if West Coast get the jump on them with an early lead – they may keep it.
West Coast in a hilarious upset.
