Jimmy and The Machine are here to give you their predictions and same game multi tips for each game this round!
Brisbane Lions vs. Collingwood
Thursday, April 17 – The Gabba – 7:30 PM AEST
Jimmy’s Prediction: Brisbane by 16
The reigning premiers are not inherently looking scary, but boy they are. None of their games have they smashed anyone, but they are undefeated and don’t look like they’ve got out of first gear.
Pies have been in solid form with four out of five wins, but they’ve had the luxury of playing out of form teams whilst them themselves are in good nick.
I can see them going hard and giving the Lions a scare, but Brisbane will adapt and conquer as easy as they have in every other game.
Lions by a few goals.

North Melbourne vs. Carlton
Friday, April 18 – Marvel Stadium – 4:20 PM AEST
Jimmy’s Prediction: Carlton by 15
Carlton should be absolutely packing themselves for this one. If they think they’re out of crap form jail after beating West Coast, then they’re really going to get showed up.
North seem to be back to their woeful self, after the Melbourne anomaly, they have lost each game by at least 6 goals.
Both teams play well with confidence, which they both have had little of late. As much as I think North may cause an upset, they’ve been too bad of late to back.
Carlton by a couple.

West Coast Eagles vs. Essendon
Friday, April 18 – Optus Stadium – 7:40 PM AWST
Jimmy’s Prediction: Essendon by 26
The Eagles are in all sorts. Not as bad as Melbourne, but they are very clearly cemented in the bottom 3. After a 71 point loss to Carlton, even the footy obsessed locals would find it hard to head to Optus stadium to see the old foe.
The Dons have been amazing at the moment. Teaching a masterclass on how not to play footy, yet somehow winning. Their skill errors have been so bad, that they transmit it to their opponents like COVID – plus some.
Ben McKay finally found some form last week, and with West Coasts spearhead Oscar Allen looking for an exit from Perth – McKay will likely continue his form from last week.
Dons easily, but not by a tonne.

Melbourne vs. Fremantle
Saturday, April 19 – MCG
Jimmy’s Prediction: Fremantle by 47
If I could trade my MCC membership for one at Marvel, I’d consider it. The Dees terrible form has got even their own supporters boycotting them. Not only is any strategy or structure down the drain, their forward line could be the worst in history – before last week, Fritsch had 1 goal to his name all year.
After Fremantles slow start, they’ve found some form winning their last 3 games, although they had West Coast and Richmond – the Doggies was a good win.
The only pro for Melbourne is that it’s in Melbourne, although there will be more people at the locks Bunnings than this game.
Freo to flog them.

Adelaide Crows vs. GWS
Saturday, April 19 – Adelaide Oval
Jimmy’s Prediction: GWS by 7
This will be a cracker of a game. Both teams looking like serious contenders, and both very exciting in their own way.
The Crows have lost their last couple, but will be very keen to get back on the winners list. There big dogs up forward will hopefully turn this game into a shootout.
Nearly every GWS game is exciting to watch – they play a great and competitive type of footy. If they match Adelaide’s aggressive game, I’m tipping Hogan will have a day out.
GWS are killers and I think they’ll do everything they can to get the W. Tipping them in a close one.

Richmond vs. Gold Coast
Saturday, April 19 – Marvel
Jimmy’s Prediction: Gold Coast by 60
Dimma coming back to the hometown to see the ex, with his hot new team, will really rub salt into Richmond. Now that the Suns have learnt how to win away from Gold Coast, they are going to be a force.
Richmond have little hope or anything to look forward to, but at least they can look at each game as a free hit with no expectations. Which, they should definitely have none for this game.
Suns to smoke them, and to be filthy it’s not at the G.

Sydney vs. Port Adelaide
Sunday, April 20 – SCG
Jimmy’s Prediction: Port Adelaide by 16
The Swans Grand Final hangover is seriously lingering, with very subpar football being played from their end all year. There have been some glimmers of them at their best, but that’s about it.
Port have been in absolute form slump, until their incredibly unexpected win against the Hawks. Maybe they were doing it for Ken, or maybe they just really hate Hawthorn – but why can’t they be good every week?
Even though it’s in Sydney, if Port bring their energy from last week – they’ll bury them.
Jimmy’s Tips:
Port Adelaide to Win
2.75 at Neds

Western Bulldogs vs. St Kilda
Sunday, April 20 – Marvel Stadium
Jimmy’s Prediction: Bulldogs by 12
The Doggies are still competing gallantly of late, even missing a handful of their stars including their fearsome leader The Bont.
St Kilda have had some success, yet no one is convinced they’re any chance to be a top 8 team – and they were found out by GWS last week with 5 goal beat down.
The Dogs are a chance to get some experience back with JJ and potentially the Bont! Even without, I’m backing them.
Bulldogs, in a good competitive game.

Geelong vs. Hawthorn
Monday, April 21 – MCG
Jimmy’s Prediction: Geelong by 9
The AFL is constantly trying to find rivalry games to mimic ANZAC Day – and this one is definitely not a flop. You can nearly always expect a good hit out.
After a slow and unconvincing start to 2025, the Cattery showed their usual colours last week – of being a dominant team. Dangerfield was playing like his life depended on it, which it isn’t, but it’s good to see a player with as much heart as Zach Merrett.
I’d been waiting for a while for someone to shut up the Hawks and put them in their place, although I definitely wasn’t expecting it to be Port Adelaide. Hawthorn have been playing with such momentum and confidence for the past 10 months that it’ll be interesting to see if they bounce straight back after last week.
Going simply from last week and just how dominant some of Geelongs stars are, I’m backing the Cats.
