Bulldogs vs Panthers
The Bulldogs continue to not do themselves any favours, getting done by the Rabbitohs last week after they pretty much went to bed at half time.
Penrith on the other hand, continue to assert their dominance by giving the Storm an almighty 40 point whacking.
Pretty much paying out on the Panthers at this stage for the Premiership. This will hardly worry them.
Dragons vs Sea Eagles
The Dragons have somehow gone from bad to worse. As the only winless team, they decided to step up the ante for the race to the spoon by not scoring against the Cowboys.
Manly though, finally put a bit of respect onto their season, notching up a big win against the Dolphins and finally got themselves a W.
Despite last week, the Dragons have been somewhat competitive, and at home – I think they might show some spirit and cause an upset.
Broncos vs Cowboys
After a shaky start to the season, the Broncos seem to be finding their feet with a win against the neighbouring Gold Coast. Hardly cause for celebration yet, but it’s 3 on the trot.
The Cowboys also have reason to celebrate – belittling the Dragons to 0 and also are sitting on 3 wins in a row. Which is more than they could’ve asked for after last year’s campaign.
While this is a good opportunity for the Cowboys to make a statement, I think the Broncos will be too strong.
Rabbitohs vs Raiders
The Rabbitohs will be wanting to make amends after a slip up against the Roosters last week – where it seemed that their star Johnston was the only one having a real crack.
The Raiders continue their season from hell, as the minor premiers of last year got done convincingly by last year’s spooners. They’ve both seemed to be having their own Freaky Friday situation as far as the ladder is concerned.
And now up against the Rabbitohs, this Freaky Friday will turn into a sh**ty Saturday for the Raiders – likely walking away from another beat up.
Sharks vs Roosters
While getting downed by 20, the Sharks couldn’t be too upset about their hit-out with Penrith last week. It was mostly an arm wrestle with just a few slip ups – but they never looked threatening.
Roosters also will hit the field this week with a grin on their face, after keeping the Rabbitohs at bay last week with a strong win.
In a game that could go either way, I think the Roosters are in better shape and will seal the deal in Perth.
Storm vs Warriors
Be an interesting game this one. Both teams started the season like a house on fire – and now are resembling a burned out frame.
Storm got pumped by the Premiership favourite last week in what seemed like a barrage of tries – while the Warriors saw the business end of the Sharks to endure another loss.
Low confidence all around, but at home I think the Storm will make a start to steady the ship.
Eels vs Titans
After a heartbreaking loss from the nail-biting Easter Monday clash – the Eels will be ready to break necks. The game was theirs to lose last week, and the Wests had been playing good footy.
Gold Coast suffered another humbling defeat, after finally getting a W the week prior. Although it wasn’t a blowout – Fifita managed to get a few junk time tries which put some respect on the board.
After last week, the Eels deserve this one – and couldn’t imagine the Titans putting up a big fight.
Tigers vs Knights
Can you believe it. A Sunday sesh of 2nd v 3rd where the teams are the Wests and the Knights. But credit where credit is due, both have been on a fair streak of late.
The Wests golden point thriller against the Eels last week was enough to let them rent position 2 on the ladder with no complaints.
And Newcastle, the former spooners have only dropped one game and are looking a brand new team.
Although I think the Knights will get caught out soon – the emotional turmoil of last Sunday will be too much for the Wests to go through again. Plus, Newcastle seem too strong at the minute.
