Raiders vs Bulldogs
The Raiders are still enduring their fall from grace, after a bitterly disappointing end to 2025, to barely landing a punch against the Warriors last week.
The Bulldogs have had a few weeks off to recover from their hangover after their epic win in Vegas at the start of the month.
Should be a good hit out between two teams who should feature in September — but I’m backing the Dogs with the fresh legs.
Roosters vs Panthers
The Roosters bounced back after their ordinary first round attempt against the Warriors, with a solid win over the Rabbitohs at home — which doesn’t inspire too much to be fair, and they should be ready for a serious humbling.
After keeping Brisbane scoreless in Round 1, the Panthers continued this form and put the Sharks to the sword in the first half last week — before slowing down a touch, but still easily got the W.
If the Roosters can slow this down early they might put some respect on the scoreboard — but as far as getting over the line, not this time around.
Storm vs Broncos
The Storm have started off 2026 electric — averaging 49 points. This Grand Final rematch should be more of a test, but the Broncos are in all sorts at the minute.
After not registering a score against Penrith in Round 1, Brisbane came out strong against the Eels — only to drop off as fast as they started and lose by 8.
Storm have as good a reason as any to sink the boot in this weekend — and everything is pointing in that direction.
Storm to smash them.
Knights vs Warriors
The Warriors have made a statement this year, absolutely binning the Raiders last week after an already strong win against the Roosters the week prior. However, they’ll have to cross the pond for this one, so there’ll be a few less friendly faces in the crowd.
Moving on to the Knights — the Knights are back! Or at least an improvement from last year, which wasn’t difficult. But two on the trot is a step in the right direction, and enough to gain some confidence.
However, that confidence is going to live for one more week — home ground advantage or not, I don’t see them getting near the Warriors in this one.
Sharks vs Dolphins
The Sharks started off Round 1 like a house on fire by smoking the Titans — and came straight back to earth last week after feeling the Panthers bite. But to be fair, they held them off quite well in the second half, which is a win in itself.
The Dolphins also walk into this game one from one — however their win was also only against the Titans, and the Sharks’ margin was far more convincing.
In the battle of the marine animals — this time round, the Sharks should comfortably drown them.
Rabbitohs vs Tigers
The Rabbitohs got a win on the board last week against the Dragons, but still look far from convincing and have plenty to work on.
The Tigers had a massive win over the Cowboys in their first outing of the year and will come in with plenty of confidence off the back of it.
The Tigers have the momentum, but Souths at home should have just enough to get the chocolates.
Eels vs Dragons
The Eels finally got a win on the board after their horror start — knocking off the Broncos in Round 2, which will do wonders for the confidence of a side that was getting absolutely buried in the press.
The Dragons are still searching for their first win of 2026, and after getting dismantled by the Storm last week, things aren’t looking much rosier than they did in Vegas.
The Eels at home should have enough to get this done, even if it’s not pretty.
Cowboys vs Titans
The Cowboys have had an absolute shocker of a start — getting done in Vegas before the Tigers gave them a serious lesson at Leichhardt last week. Back home in Townsville, they’ll be desperate to get something on the board.
The Titans are in a similar boat — two losses and showing very little signs of life. One of these sides has to win, and it might as well be the Cowboys on their own turf.
