Haha, Carlton. Although a month ago I liked them for the flag, so I have egg on my face.
They’ll have to come out hard though, and it would be spectacular Carlton fashion to topple the hottest team in town, directly after losing to the coldest.
Would, should, could – are some of the words I’m avoiding this week, and I am going on the safe and responsible side and putting my money on the Hawks. They look incredibly well drilled in their last two hit outs – although I think they’ll topple soon enough.

Jimmy’s Prediction: Collingwood by 15
Hard not to back the Pies after the bollocking they gave Port last week.
Footscray with a full set of strength are incredibly dangerous, but they are some wounded dogs at the minute – with youngster Luke Cleary adding to that last week with a sickening concussion.
Collingwood certainly bit back at the naysayers last week, including me, and after the masterclass against Port, I think they’ll get the better of the Dogs at the G.

Jimmy’s Prediction: Adelaide by 4
This’ll be an interesting game. Not just because I find all Dons games interesting, but they played pretty bad against Hawthorn – yet the scoreboard said otherwise.
Adelaide absolutely flogged the Saints last week, which shows a bit of where they’re both at.
These two teams have had some bad blood and close games of late, so it should be a cracker. I’m tipping the Crows for this one. Essendon are still running around like headless chooks, and the three mountains of muscle Walker, Thilthorpe and Fogarty will be tough for the lanky Essendon back men.

You’d think after Richmond’s amazing upset last week and Ports smacking that the bookies wouldn’t be so harsh on the Tigers.
But, one game means nothing, so this will give us a better indication of where both teams are at. I think last week was a bit of an adrenaline fluke for the Richmond under 18s, and the Power need to give their fans something at the Portress.

Jimmy’s Prediction: Geelong by 17
The Saints would have to be one of the most irritating teams to follow. Rarely in the top 8, and just slow boring footy.
Enough venting, but thats not the style Geelong likes and they won’t get sucked into it at home. They’ve got a bit of a cat and mouse thing going on from their recent hit outs, both teams always winning at home, which favours the Saints.
However, after last week I found them incredibly uninspiring, whilst Geelong had a boost of confidence to trigger their bi-annual, and insufferable, period of being a powerhouse.

The reigning premiers looked a bit rusty last week, but still got the job done in last years Grand Final rematch. Sydney also had the upper hand after already playing a game, and the home ground advantage.
West Coast, unsurprisingly were underwhelming and got pumped by Gold Coast at home. The flight from Brisbane to Perth will be extra long next Monday.

The Roos had a very gallant effort last week, really bringing it to the struggling Doggies. However, Doggies at the worst is a much different kettle of fish than Melbourne at the best.

Jimmy’s Prediction: Sydney by 6
A lot of speculation on Sydney early, and on big Cox, with two losses and a wealth of top tier players just not getting the job done.
Freo were also incredibly underwhelming last week, getting absolutely flogged by Geelong.
With both teams playing at below their averages, I would back Sydney every day. Sydney hasn’t been in good form since round 12 last year, but they are still competitive.
I am wanting to see Freo hit some form as I think they’ll be strong competition, however I think Sydney will find their feet sooner which might be spawned at this game.
